ABOUT John lima – YOUR MASTER INSTRUCTOR and self-defense coach!

As a teenager, Mr. Lima was in a theatre and saw his first Bruce Lee movie. He was hooked! It was not long before Mr. Lima was in a martial arts school learning the kicks that made movie magic. His Master Instructor, Hee Il Cho, was an amazing instructor and mentor to John.

After numerous years of blood, sweat and tears, Mr. Lima received his 1st Dan Black Belt and caught the competition bug.

He began competing in 1980 in Full Contact Kickboxing. Soon after becoming a professional fighter and winning his first event, Mr. Lima switched to point fighting. He went on to win several championships as a Black Belt competitor.

It was then that he began training with Grandmaster Kwon in Tukesberry, MA. Mr. Lima was promoted to Master Instructor and received his 6th Dan ranking.

Master Lima opened his own school in 1983 in Rhode Island and relocated to Taunton, MA in 1988. He has been changing lives in the area ever since.

To this day, you will find Master / Coach Lima training alongside his students on a daily basis and even after his years of competition and numerous championships; he still finds joy in teaching his students how to perform at a top level.

Meet Miss A

One of our beloved instructors.

Erin Aiello (Miss A) started her martial arts journey at six years old. After watching the movie Kickboxer her parents signed her up for Kempo lessons.  After a couple of years, Miss A stopped Kempo and later resumed Martial arts at a local Tae Kwon Do School. She later earned her Black Belt in Olympic-style Tae Kwon Do at the age of 17. Miss A stopped training in Olympic style Tae Kwon Do when she started training at White Tiger Tae Kwon Do, an International Tae Kwon Do Federation affiliated school located next to her college, the University of Hartford.  Miss A enjoyed training at White Tiger due to their emphasis on Sparring.  Unfortunately, she had to stop training at White Tiger when she relocated to Rhode Island to attend Roger Williams University School of Law.

While in law school, Miss A tried Boxing at the Fall River Police Athletic League, but missed kicking things. She began teaching at Semper Fi Tae Kwon Do in Swansea where she trained and coached a tournament sparring team.  Miss A taught in Swansea for eleven years, where she became a Second-Degree Black belt. In February 2017, Miss A  began teaching at Lima’s Tae Kwon Do.

Miss A is an Assistant District Attorney in Massachusetts, but loves making time to teach Tae Kwon Do at Lima’s. Martial Arts has made an enormous impact in Miss A’s life and her favorite thing is watching new students gain confidence and self-esteem by training. Miss A is hoping to earn her Third-Degree Black Belt at Lima’s Tae Kwon Do.

Miss A primarily teaches the Intermediate and Advanced Classes.
